Alumnus Brandon Alley’s (BAD, BTTM 2007) elementary school (China Grove) recently had a book he wrote and illustrated in Art + Design Professor Susan Toplikar’s Illustration Studio called Gary’s Barbecue published for all of their classrooms and the library. Alley went to the school and read the book to the students Friday, May 29, 2009. The Salisbury Post article neglected to mention the College of Design or Alley’s Art + Design degree at all, but he assures us that all of the books do. If anyone at the College of Design is interested in a book, they are taking orders for a couple of weeks before
they make another batch.
Alley now works as a student services representative and the S.T.E.P. coordinator at NC State University’s College of Textiles.
