Kofi Boone presenting papers abroad and panelist at ASLA annual meeting

Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture Kofi Boone, ASLA, will be presenting two papers at the
Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) 2010 conference in Maastricht, Netherlands. The conference is a joint effort with ISOMUL, and International Landscape Architecture Organization. The two papers are “Triggers for Ecological Thinking: Alternative Pathways to Environmental Awareness in Community Design”, and “Racialized Topography as a Generative DesignTool: Community Design in Situations with Inequitable Land Patterns.” Both papers were co-authored by Boone and Dr. Celen Pasalar, of NC State University.

Boone will also be presenting a research poster at the Emerging Landscapes conference. The conference is a joint venture between the School of Architecture and the Built Environment and the School of Media, Arts and Design, University of Westminster. The poster is entitled “Shaping the Urban Landscape in Ghana’s Cities: Passive, Active, and Reactive Spaces.”

Finally, Kofi Boone will be a panelist at the 2010 American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA) Annual Meeting and EXPO in Washington, D.C. The panel is an educational program entitled “Landscape Architecture Leadership for Challengs of the 21st Century.”
