Master of Architecture alumna Sarah Corbitt (’09) will be giving a presentation at the GreenNC trade show on the topic of “The International Code Council’s forthcoming International Green Construction Code: Public Version 1″ on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. in the McKimmon’s Center.
The IGCC is a code overlay which can be voluntarily adopted by municipalities. It works along with the IBC, IFC, IECC and et cetera. The first official IGCC is going to be released in with the ICC code updates in 2012. It’s different from LEED in some fundamental ways, but covers much of the same territory. And it may be mandatory.
