The Product Innovation Lab - a graduate-level course co-founded by Professor of Industrial Design Haig Khachatoorian was - was recently chosen by Forbes Magazine as one of the Top 10 innovative business school courses in the United States.
Khachatoorian founded the course 15 years ago with colleagues Dr. Mitzi Montoya, formerly of the College of Management and now executive dean of the Arizona State University College of Technology and Innovation, and Dr. Clare Maday, former professor of Mechanical Engineering of the College of Engineering.
The course has been sponsored by numerous Fortune 100/500 level companies. The course now has six disciplines of faculty and students involved in team-based projects with a present focus on medical products and services design. Teams of students advised by faculty experts and consultants create viable solutions and design concepts for real-world problems provided by sponsors and clients.
