A design workshop was conducted for the seventh graders at Andrews Middle School, helping to design the school's science garden. The purpose of this design workshop was to introduced the students to design issues and the design process as well as new techniques for design visualization. Additionally, Two projection system were used side by side in the workshop. An overhead projector was used to worked through the site analysis and special programming in plan view. A computer projection system was used with digital imaging and layering techniques to work through specific design decisions in perspective view. Working in both plan and perspective views concurrently helped the students comprehend the abstractions of plan view.
