Faculty Position (Organic Chemistry)
The Department of Chemistry at NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY is seeking to fill a tenure track faculty position in the area of Organic Chemistry. This is an open rank search; however preference will be given to candidates at the junior level whose research interests will complement existing programs in the department and University, especially in the areas of synthetic chemistry, chemical biology, and organic materials.

The successful candidate is expected to establish a nationally and internationally recognized research program and to demonstrate strong interests and abilities in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates must possess a PhD and post-doctoral experience in Chemistry or a related scientific field to be considered for this position. Chemistry Stockroom Assistant
The Department of Chemistry is seeking a part time Stockroom Assistant to provide clerical and technical support for the Chemistry Stockroom. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain stockroom inventory through software and manual checks
  • Complete thorough inventory of stockroom items and place orders as needed
  • Re-stock shelves from back-stock and re-orders
  • Transport chemicals to and from off-site storage facilities
  • Maintain dry ice orders and adjust quantities as needed
  • Assist Department members with shipping and receiving issues
  • Communicate, negotiate, and maintain working relationship with vendors
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Postdoctoral Research Associates

Position #00105295

The essential duties of this position will be the development and application of a novel interface for ESI-MS. The Postdoctoral Scholar will also be expected to collect and interpret data, prepare presentations and publications, present data at conferences, and take a leadership role on the project by effectively growing the collaboration with the research team at Georgia Tech. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work with a multidisciplinary team and will travel to Georgia Institute of Technology as needed to further the research and collaborative efforts of the team. This Postdoctoral Scholar position is funded by the National Institutes of Health.

The essential duties of this position will be expression and purification of membrane proteins, measuring solid-state NMR sprectra data analysis and interpretation. This position requires a familiarity with cloning, gel electrophoresis, analytical centrifugation, HPLC and FPLC. The knowledge of the operation of NMR spectrometers is required.
