Return to Work Guide

NC State Faculty and Staff,

Late yesterday afternoon, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced phase two of the state’s incremental approach to ease COVID-19-related restrictions across North Carolina. The governor continued to encourage citizens to work from home where possible.

As outlined in the new executive order, phase two begins Friday, May 22, at 5 p.m., and is planned to run through at least Friday, June 26.

Consistent with state guidance, NC State will continue to move forward carefully and remain vigilant in our efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. As we work with UNC System leadership to determine how this new phase affects university operations, NC State continues safely reactivating some critical operations and activities, including research, Extension and the Veterinary Hospital.

Over the weeks ahead, we expect to bring more employees back to campus, as appropriate, in a phased manner. To help our campus community plan for and execute a safe return to on-site work, we have created the NC State return-to-work guide. Please review these guidelines, which provide an overview of important health and safety information for the workplace and links to a variety of additional information and resources.

At this time, employees are expected to continue working from home unless otherwise notified. The university will issue additional campus personnel and operations updates as decisions are made. Please regularly visit NC State’s Coronavirus Information page for updates.

Our top priority in all decisions remains the health and well-being of our Wolfpack community. Thank you for your patience and your commitment to keeping NC State safe and strong.

Randy Woodson, Chancellor
