SPONSORING AGENCY: American Association of University Women (AAUW) Educational Foundation

PURPOSE: The founders of the American Association of University Women believed that education is the key to achieving equity for women of all ages, races, creeds, and nationalities. For over 100 years, this belief has remained the driving force behind AAUW, which has helped more than 7,000 women reach their personal and professional goals through a variety of fellowships and grants. Selected Professions Fellowships are awarded in designated fields traditionally underrepresented by women. The AAUW Educational Foundation gives special consideration to applicants who show professional promise in innovative or neglected areas of research and/or practice in public interest concerns.

ELIGIBILITY: Fellowships are awarded to women who intend to pursue a full-time course of study at accredited institutions during the fellowship year in designated degree programs where women's participation traditionally has been low (see list below).
