SPONSORING AGENCY: Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE)

PURPOSE: ORISE administers research participation and fellowship programs for the Department of Energy and other federal agencies. Programs target faculty, postgraduates, graduates, and undergraduates in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. ORISE coordinates numerous opportunities for graduate students to participate in research and internship opportunities.

FIELDS: Computer science, business and economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, statistics, physical and life sciences, biomedical and environmental sciences

  • Full- and part-time appointments at the Oak Ridge National Laboratories are available for 3-12 month periods for students in science, mathematics, engineering or technology fields.
  • Other paid internships are available at the National Energy Technology Center in Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV and at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. Information on these opportunities and others can be found at the ORISE website.
