Office of Faculty Development

NC State students and faculty are encouraged to recommend one or more current or former professors for recognition as a recipient of the Board of Governors' Award for Excellence in Teaching, as a member of NC State's Academy of Outstanding Teachers, or as an Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor. This is done by submitting names to the colleges, or by using the online form for the nomination of teachers. We will collect these online submissions and forward to the appropriate colleges.

Upon being selected as an Outstanding Teacher, recipients become members of the Academy of Outstanding Teachers for as long as they are NC State faculty. Recognition is given at commencement, the Honors Baccalaureate and Celebration of Academic Excellence, and the Celebration of Teaching and Learning.

Outstanding Teacher Cash Awards
Outstanding Teacher Award recipients are reviewed by the Senior Class Council and four are selected for a cash award of $1,000.00.

Deadline
College selections must be submitted to the Office of Faculty Development, 4th Floor, Clark Hall, Campus Box 7227, no later than 4:00 p.m., January 29, 2010.
