BioMarck Receives FDA Approval for Phase II Trial of Lung Drug
February 4 , 2008 --
BioMarck, an NC State start-up company, has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to launch a Phase II clinical trial for its compound that targets chronic obstructive respiratory disease, or COPD.
The company's treatment for respiratory diseases is based on technology licensed from NC State.

Biolex Plans IPO
August 15, 2007 -- Biolex of Pittsboro, N.C., an NC State start-up company, filed plans with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an IPO.
Biolex is developing experimental medicines, including a treatment for hepatitis C, using genetically engineered Lemna, an aquatic plant known as duckweed.
