Updates on our progress and connecting you with information

Good afternoon,

In partnership with environmental and public health experts, NC State continues to work diligently to better understand Poe Hall’s environment. To help answer questions from the university community, NC State has invited leading public health professionals to participate in an informational webinar on Monday, March 25, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The webinar will include Chancellor Randy Woodson; Provost Warwick Arden; Dr. Zack Moore, the state epidemiologist with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services; and Dr. Andrew F. Olshan, a UNC-Chapel Hill epidemiologist who has conducted extensive research in cancer occurrence and outcomes nationally and in North Carolina.

To add the webinar to your calendar, please click here. Attendees are required to log in to the provided Zoom link using a Unity ID prior to joining. The webinar will also be recorded and made available on the Poe Hall Updates website.

During the webinar, Chancellor Woodson and Provost Arden will provide updates and answer questions about the university’s progress and timeline for the evaluation of Poe Hall, as well as the status of the university’s work with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health on its ongoing Health Hazard Evaluation. Drs. Moore and Olshan will help provide additional context and information around public health, including the roles various agencies play in understanding potential connections among cancer diagnoses.

Drs. Moore and Olshan’s opinions are their own and will be offered for informational purposes only. They also cannot address specific personal health concerns. If you have questions about your own personal health, please speak with your medical provider.

If you’d like to submit a question, you may do so here. Please note the Google form will require authentication with a Unity ID, but it will not record your name or email in any capacity. Speakers will address as many questions as possible in the time allotted. Questions that are not addressed during the event may be answered via the Poe Hall Updates website or in future communications.

We are grateful for your patience as the university continues this vital work. As we learn more information, we will share it with you.

Thank you.
