Adverse Winter Weather Information

Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 -- 11:00 a.m.

Due to potentially adverse winter weather, NC State is moving to reduced operations (Condition 1) on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Noon. Classes continue as scheduled under Condition 1.

At 3 p.m., the university will move to suspended operations (Condition 2) until 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21. All classes starting at or after 3 p.m. on Thursday and before 10 a.m. on Friday are canceled.

Under Condition 1, classes are in session and the university is open but some operations may be reduced. Employees should take reasonable precautions for personal safety and mandatory employees must report to or remain at work. Non-mandatory employees should make a good faith effort to remain at or report to work taking reasonable precautions for personal safety.

Under Condition 2, all non-mandatory operations are suspended and non-mandatory employees should not report to work until the university resumes normal operations. The university will update the NC State community by 9 a.m. if there are any additional schedule changes.

The NC State campus is currently operating on a normal schedule. The National Weather Service is predicting adverse winter weather for our area starting in the afternoon on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, which may bring snow, sleet and freezing rain. NC State officials continue to monitor the situation closely and will post any operating schedule changes here.
